is clearly thriving at present and, after 10 weeks off, followed up from last time in identical fashion; soon well clear, travelled powerfully, reduced advantage briefly home turn, asserted from 2 out, had bit in hand, just kept up to work; has now won 3 of his last 4 starts in good style.

is a reliable sort and ran up to his best; chased leader, brief headway end of back straight, stuck to task well latter stages but essentially no match for the easy winner.

might have needed the run after 7 months off but still ran below form, even allowing for the fact he wasn't seen to best effect (conceded first run to the all-the-way winner); mid-division, still plenty to do back straight, shaken up after 3 out, one paced from next.
