put up his best efffort yet to follow up from last time, further evidence that he's getting to grips with hurdling now after a stuttering start; chased leader, went with enthusiasm, led between last 2, stayed on well, strong at the finish back up in trip; there's no reason why he won't continue to run well, including in handicaps.

ran well conceding weight all around; in touch, went with zest, challenged 2 out, kept on; a strong traveller, he's very much the type to be suited by a well-run handicap.

upped in trip, was a warm order getting weight off his main rivals but ran only to a similar level to last time and seemed beaten on merit, hard to be sure why he isn't matching the useful form he showed in the autumn (which looks solid enough), this effort extra disappointing considering he had the run of the race; made running, jumped fluently, pushed along before 2 out, headed approaching last, no extra.

put up a much improved effort, one more in keeping with his bumper form, and may do better still, though on the downside this will likely have blown what had the potential to be a very lenient handicap mark; close up, travelled fluently, shaken up 2 out, not quicken, considerately handled.
