improved further to go one better than at Exeter 5 weeks earlier, making light of a 5 lb higher mark; mid-field, headway on bridle early in straight, upsides last, edged right, quickened clear; still unexposed - this was just his fifth start over hurdles - and sure to be of interest again once reassessed.

ran well with his reappearance 3 weeks earlier under his belt, unlucky not to win, veering right when his rider became unbalanced soon after taking it up at the second last and almost running out; patiently ridden, smooth headway from 5 out, produced to lead 2 out, headed when rider lost irons before last, not recover; will remain interesting from this sort of mark and can gain compensation before long.
