after 8 weeks off, proved at least as good as ever as he made it 3 wins from 4 starts around here this winter, doing well under the circumstances too; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, shaken up home turn, switched early in straight, found plenty in straight and led dying strides; did well to get to another thriving rival who enjoyed first run and may do better still if found another opening here this all-weather campaign.

couldn't maintain his 100% record around here but lost no caste in defeat, improving again and just unlucky to bump into another one who has built up an excellent record on fibresand; prominent, travelled smoothly, led 2f out, kept on well, headed dying strides; previous comments about his effectiveness on other all-weather surface hold true, but he'll remain high on the shortlist around here.

back on fibresand for the first time since notching a 4-timer here last winter, ran best race since then reverted to handicap company, doing as well as could be expected against a couple of upwardly-mobile rivals; in rear, headway when short of room 2f out, switched soon after, effort flattened out final 100 yds.

back in headgear/back on fibresand and over shortest trip he's tackled since his debut, again ran well after 5 weeks off; close up, effort 3f out, every chance under 2f out, no extra; had no excuses and it could be that the handicapper now has his measure.

after 6 weeks off, ran to a similar level to last time, seemingly just not in the same form as he was when notching back-to-back successes before the turn of the year; prominent, pushed along over 2f out, not quicken.

Handicap form to view positively, the first 4 home all boasting good records on this surface, whilst the pair who pulled a little way clear are also better than ever; the gallop was fair.
