followed up in good style from 4 lb higher mark, making full use of his draw and skipping clear while the favourite in second was trapped in a poor position, seen to maximum effect here but clearly respected at this track given surface record; made all, went with zest, drew clear over 2f out, unchallenged, got first run.

ran creditably back down in trip from 10 lb higher mark, especially given he was not seen to best effect; raced very wide from worst of draw, mid-field, carried further right home turn, hung left, kept on once winner had flown; will remain of interest, will prove suited by a return to 1m.

Winning Owner: Mr Mark Bates & Mrs E Burke

Time: 1m 27.2s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 38.05s (97.4%)

Plenty of course wins between the first 3 but the winner was much better positioned and stole a march on them, coming home unchallenged in the final 1f, the runner-up much better than the result having been trapped wide.

ANGEL PALANAS followed up in good style from 4 lb higher mark, making full use of his draw and skipping clear while the favourite in second was trapped in a poor position, seen to maximum effect here but clearly respected at this track given surface record; made all, went with zest, drew clear over 2f out, unchallenged, got first run.

HAMMER GUN (USA) easy to back, has been given a chance by the handicapper and took a step back in the right direction despite not appearing to be going anywhere for the most part, getting going in the straight; in rear, outpaced, late headway.

GENTLEMEN wasn't at his best belatedly trying fibresand; in touch, driven 2f out, not quicken.

MAJESTIC MOON (IRE) back on fibresand, was below form after 10 weeks off; raced wide, mid-field, hung right over 2f out, never a threat.

MR MINERALS well backed, followed a good run with a below-par one; dwelt, mid-field, weakened 2f out.

LONDON (FR) back on fibresand, was below form; in touch, weakened over 1f out.

ESPRIT DE CORPS offered little after further 10 months off; slowly into stride, always behind.

GIBENO (IRE) making fibresand debut, ran poorly in first-time blinkers; raced wide, in touch, hung right, weakened over 1f out.

ART ECHO again ran poorly; always behind.

BLACKLOOKS (IRE) making fibresand debut having been backed at long odds, ran poorly; dwelt, in rear, headway 3f out, weakened 1f out.

GUARDIA SVIZZERA (IRE) fared no better switched to fibresand; close up, weakened 2f out.
