followed up his debut win over fences with what's becoming a typically gutsy effort, looking to be going less well than the runner-up but responding gamely when ridden, sure to progress further; led, jumped well in main, kicked on after 4 out, hampered approaching 3 out, shaken up straight, hampered again, headed briefly 2 out, found plenty; he's reportedly unlikely to run in the Kauto Star, perhaps Kempton not his track, the Cotswold and Reynoldstown mentioned as options, the Broadway, a race which should be right up his street, the main aim.

continued his highly promising start over fences, for all that he couldn't quite master the doughty winner, on the bridle for longer but not so strong a stayer on the climb from the last; held up, went second circuit out until hit thirteenth, looming up when hampered approaching 3 out, hampered again home turn, led on bridle briefly 2 out, shaken up last, not quicken run-in; likely to continue to progress.

upped in trip, hadn't shown enough in 2 runs over fences to think he'd be anywhere near up to competing in this and was soon left behind when the race began in earnest; held up, not always fluent, lost touch after 4 out.

A new race, effectively an amalgamation of the old Worcester and December novice chases, run lately at Newbury and Doncaster respectively, this scheduled to fall between the 2 former dates, the inaugural running attracting a trio of very promising novices, notably a Grade 1 winning novice hurdler from last season, the form looking well up to Grade 2 standard.

STAY AWAY FAY (IRE) followed up his debut win over fences with what's becoming a typically gutsy effort, looking to be going less well than the runner-up but responding gamely when ridden, sure to progress further; led, jumped well in main, kicked on after 4 out, hampered approaching 3 out, shaken up straight, hampered again, headed briefly 2 out, found plenty; he's reportedly unlikely to run in the Kauto Star, perhaps Kempton not his track, the Cotswold and Reynoldstown mentioned as options, the Broadway, a race which should be right up his street, the main aim.

GIOVINCO (IRE) continued his highly promising start over fences, for all that he couldn't quite master the doughty winner, on the bridle for longer but not so strong a stayer on the climb from the last; held up, went second circuit out until hit thirteenth, looming up when hampered approaching 3 out, hampered again home turn, led on bridle briefly 2 out, shaken up last, not quicken run-in; likely to continue to progress.

CONKWELL LEGEND upped in trip, hadn't shown enough in 2 runs over fences to think he'd be anywhere near up to competing in this and was soon left behind when the race began in earnest; held up, not always fluent, lost touch after 4 out.

THE CHANGING MAN (IRE) asked to take on Stay Away Fay again, departed before the race had begun in earnest, though had travelled smoothly to that point; held up, went second thirteenth, unseated rider seventeenth; remains open to improvement.
