opened his account for the year, confirming the promise of his run over C&D last month; dwelt but soon prominent main group, travelled well, close up 4f out, went on over 2f out, driven out; he evidently handles ground softer than good well.

without the headgear this time, is best not judged on this run, possibly unsuited by the return to ground softer than good, not bred to need this far, either; in rear, shaken up approaching 2f out, made no impression; he was apparently pulled up and dismounted shortly after the winning line.

failed to repeat last effort, overdoing it in front this time, though that performance is suspect in any case, seen to maximum effect; raced clear, took strong hold, closed down 4f out, headed over 2f out, weakened.

A rather thin-looking handicap for the grade, particularly with the favourite disappointing; the pace was sound.
