is clearly back in very good form as he ostensibly took this field apart, acknowledging his nearest pursuer went wrong turning for home (already in command at that point), providing his rider with a third success in this race; mid-division, jumped superbly, disputed lead from ninth, went on twelfth, joined sixteenth, pressed on 3 out, left clear before next, won easily; he'll presumably be back here for another crack at the bet365 Gold Cup next month.

Le Reve and the Royal Artillery winner Carlos du Fruitier strung the field right out in the back straight, most of them unable to cope, and the former had already got the better of the argument when the latter went wrong turning for home; the runner-up holds the form down to some extent, though the winner was a long way clear at the finish.

LE REVE (IRE) is clearly back in very good form as he ostensibly took this field apart, acknowledging his nearest pursuer went wrong turning for home (already in command at that point), providing his rider with a third success in this race; mid-division, jumped superbly, disputed lead from ninth, went on twelfth, joined sixteenth, pressed on 3 out, left clear before next, won easily; he'll presumably be back here for another crack at the bet365 Gold Cup next month.

HOLLY BUSH HENRY (IRE) back over fences in a change of headgear/refitted tongue tie after 6 weeks off, continues below form; in touch, untidy first, mistake eighth, lost ground back straight, some headway again 3 out, no further impression.

KELTUS (FR) completed, but to all intents and purposes was out of the race from an early stage; in touch, lost place when mistake third, bad mistake next, no threat after.

A TAIL OF INTRIGUE (IRE) wasn't in the same form as last time, in a deeper contest and ridden much more patiently; raced off the pace, mistake first, baulked third, left behind from fourteenth.
