The 2 left standing after the favourite fell at the first served up an exciting finish, but the nature of the race means it can't be anything other than weak form.

DAREBIN (GER) back in headgear, came out on top, mostly just cashing in on a weak race, though his mark had slipped; chased leader, shaken up 2 out, stayed on to lead inside final 100 yds.

BIG JIM had things his own way and returned to form, though his jumping wasn't foot perfect; made running, not always fluent, pushed along before 2 out, battled on but edged out run-in.

TARA BRIDGE went off favourite in pursuit of a hat-trick but overjumped and fell at the first.
