caused a surprise, having been behind the favourite in the St Hugh's, though there was a strong sense of everything falling just right, unhindered as others worked for room, her improvement probably not so marked as it might appear for all the longer trip clearly suited; patiently ridden, progress on inner 2f out, avoided trouble, quickened to lead approaching last ½f, driven out.

lost her unbeaten record but emerged with her obvious potential intact, going like the best horse at the weights in adverse circumstances hiked in class; in touch, going well when not clear run from halfway, switched 1f out, effort when intimidated soon after, closed down leader late on, finished with running left; she remains potentially smart.

All 12 ran.

It got rough for a few and opened up like the Red Sea on the inside for the winner, whose SP added to the feel of a Dick Poole that promises to prove unreliable form, even though the pace had been fair after 1f or so of sorting out.

ROMANTIC TIME caused a surprise, having been behind the favourite in the St Hugh's, though there was a strong sense of everything falling just right, unhindered as others worked for room, her improvement probably not so marked as it might appear for all the longer trip clearly suited; patiently ridden, progress on inner 2f out, avoided trouble, quickened to lead approaching last ½f, driven out.
