back down in trip, after 8 weeks off, proved at least as good as ever, in a less demanding race than he'd been contesting, given a fine ride too; handy, led under pressure 2f out, kept on, just held on; he's a smart colt on his day.

ran as well as he has all year, a shade unlucky not to win after meeting some trouble; in touch, effort over 2f out, had to weave way through, stayed on inside final 1f, edged right, just failed.

ran creditably, up in grade, giving best only late in the day, needing no excuses; held up, took keen hold, headway over 2f out, every chance soon after, shaken up over 1f out, not quicken well inside final 1f.

back down in trip, ran creditably after 8 weeks off, likely to have gone closer still had he been able to get a run when his rider wanted; waited with, took keen hold, pushed along 3f out, not clear run over 1f out, switched, ridden, not quicken inside final 1f.

Salisbury's biggest race of the whole season, though it wasn't quite up to its usual standard, producing, however, a thrilling finish, little to choose between the 5 finishers in the closing stages, the runner-up a shade unlucky and King Ottakar not seen to best advantage, the winner getting a fine ride; incidentally, the first 2 had both finished last on their previous start.

KICK ON back down in trip, after 8 weeks off, proved at least as good as ever, in a less demanding race than he'd been contesting, given a fine ride too; handy, led under pressure 2f out, kept on, just held on; he's a smart colt on his day.
