wasted no time getting back on track, banishing the memory of a blip on soft ground in Ireland in taking his career record to 7 wins from 8 starts, and it was in many ways a trademark performance, battling his way to the front after others had travelled more smoothly; chased leader, pushed along over 2f out, led last ½f, responded well; he's well up to winning races back at pattern level and the July Cup is reportedly under consideration, the stiff finish there sure to suit him, though it remains to be seen whether his tendency to hit a flat spot counts against him in a top-level sprint.

strong in the betting, ran well back under more patient tactics and perhaps deserves extra credit bearing in mind the pair he split were always prominent; slowly into stride, held up, good headway 2f out, chased leaders final 1f, stayed on; he doesn't always make life easy for himself but is unequestionably up to winning good races.

last seen beating Ivawood and Muhaarar in the 2014 Middle Park, has obviously had a serious problem but shaped as if retaining all that ability fitted with a tongue strap after 20 months off and might well make up for lost time assuming he comes out of this okay; mid-division, effort when switched approaching final 1f, ran on, not unduly punished.

ran to a similar level to last time, getting no closer to the form he showed when second in last season's Sprint Cup, and as things stand that's a massive standout on his record, not unreasonable now to start to wonder if it flatters him; in touch, effort 2f out, not quicken.

shaped as if better for the run after 9 months off, maybe tuning up for the Wokingham, though it'd be a big effort to win that from his mark, and he'll need to improve if he's not to be stranded in the twilight zone between handicaps and listed/minor pattern races; held up, shaken up 2f out, never involved.

A listed race in name but there'll be worse Group 3s run over the course of the season and the first 2 in particular are well up to winning at a higher level; the third set just a fair gallop, chased most closely by the winner, and the runner-up might've been up against it slightly trying to come from out the back.

DON'T TOUCH wasted no time getting back on track, banishing the memory of a blip on soft ground in Ireland in taking his career record to 7 wins from 8 starts, and it was in many ways a trademark performance, battling his way to the front after others had travelled more smoothly; chased leader, pushed along over 2f out, led last ½f, responded well; he's well up to winning races back at pattern level and the July Cup is reportedly under consideration, the stiff finish there sure to suit him, though it remains to be seen whether his tendency to hit a flat spot counts against him in a top-level sprint.
