hadn't won for nearly 2 years prior to his reappearance but, just like then, made it back-to-back wins, though he was fortunate on the day, everything going right for him and wrong for the runner-up; made running, quickened over 3f out, closed down late on, all out to hold on, had the run of the race.

shaped even better than at Redcar just 3 days earlier, most unlucky not to score; missed the break, held up in steadily-run race, had to wait for gap from 3f out, got gap inside final 1f, finished well, just failed; he can make amends before long.

The first 3 might all be veterans but the winner had won here on his reappearance and the second and third were on or below their last winning marks, with Baryshnikov already having shaped well earlier in the week; the outcome was decided on the relative track position of the first 2, Cockalorum in pole position setting a steady gallop whereas Baryshnikov not only had to come from behind horses, but he could only open up inside the final 1f.

COCKALORUM (IRE) hadn't won for nearly 2 years prior to his reappearance but, just like then, made it back-to-back wins, though he was fortunate on the day, everything going right for him and wrong for the runner-up; made running, quickened over 3f out, closed down late on, all out to hold on, had the run of the race.

POET'S DAWN turned in best effort of the season having his second run in 24 hours; in touch, close up under 3f out, keeping on when got a whip in the face over 1f out, ran on.

NIGWA who unseated her rider before the start, had no excuses this time and she's yet to win a handicap; tracked pace, close up 3f out, every chance until inside final 1f.

PISANELLO (IRE) is yet to prove he stays quite this far and seemed not to quite do so again, even in a steadily-run race; mid-division, headway around 2f out, no extra last ½f.
