built on what he'd shown at Redcar and bounced back to something like his best, coping fine with a well-run race at 6f, even on this sharp track; in touch, smooth headway over 2f out, produced to lead over 1f out, driven out.

Only 3 gave their running but with the superbly consistent Muscika in the field it's easy to get a solid handle on the form, Lahore running his best race since his 3-y-o days to come out on top after the favourite had set a strong gallop.

LAHORE (USA) built on what he'd shown at Redcar and bounced back to something like his best, coping fine with a well-run race at 6f, even on this sharp track; in touch, smooth headway over 2f out, produced to lead over 1f out, driven out.

MUSCIKA ran really well again for all he finished runner-up for a fourth time in 5 starts, doing a bit too much in the lead as it turned out; forced pace on rail, travelled well, shaken up under 2f out, headed over 1f out, kept on.

DALTON without the headgear, ran well on form but is making rather hard work of things at the moment; raced off the pace, outpaced, kept on well out wide from 2f out, never nearer.

UPSTAGING back in headgear, seems to be going through the motions for the most part this season, his Ayr second a big standout; raced off the pace, went with little fluency, merely plugged on.

PIPERS NOTE has won this particular contest twice before but hasn't really been able to get anything going this season as a 9-y-o; prominent, threatened 2f out, faded over 1f out.

GIN IN THE INN (IRE) ran even worse; mid-field, dropped away from halfway, soon beaten.

TERUNTUM STAR (FR) again ran below form; in touch, ridden over 2f out, beaten over 1f out.

BOSSIPOP shaped similarly to last time despite being back at Ripon; pressed leader, weakened from 2f out.
