found Group 2 company a bit too hot the last twice, this more his level, and he made the drop in class count under a very strong ride from De Sousa; in touch, pushed along halfway, stayed on to lead last ½f, all out to hold on; he's only raced at this trip so far but will stay 7f.

was much improved from her previous 2 tries at this level but it might prove the one that got away, this not a hot listed event, and without meeting trouble she'd probably have won; held up, headway when not clear run over 1f out, switched, stayed on but just failed.

coped with the step up in grade, running creditably and giving his all, handling the softish ground conditions as well; forced pace, headed last ½f, kept on and held on gamely for third; he might be nearing his limit but is very likeable.

ran respectably without quite matching the form of his Molecomb second, trying 6f and softish ground for the first time, the combination possibly stretching him a bit; chased leaders, challenged 2f out, every chance still final 1f, one paced.

is looking like he's peaked, vulnerable in this grade in Britain, but he's proving tough and quite consistent; pressed leader, challenged over 1f out, not quicken, had every chance.

failed to repeat his last effort, which would've been good enough to win, but seemed to struggle with the undulations on the track and shaped better than the bare result; awkward leaving stalls, soon mid-division, not quicken around 2f out but then made late headway and would have been third in another 50 yards; he'll stay 7f and is well worth another chance in listed company.

wasn't seen to best effect and is better than this; held up, keeping on when short of room over 1f out, never landed a blow but wasn't unduly punished and looked to have running left.

There's a muddling feel to this form, the field heaped within just over 2 lengths of each other at the line, the winner benefiting from a clearer run and stronger ride than some, and it's not form to be rating highly, below par for the grade in terms of the winning standard.

SPORTING CHANCE found Group 2 company a bit too hot the last twice, this more his level, and he made the drop in class count under a very strong ride from De Sousa; in touch, pushed along halfway, stayed on to lead last ½f, all out to hold on; he's only raced at this trip so far but will stay 7f.
