has been a revelation this summer, turned around completely by a breathing operation, this fourth win from his last 6 starts coming from a 15 lb higher mark than the first of them, and he could have won by more than half-a-length (should be rated accordingly); tracked pace, took strong hold, headway when switched approaching final 1f, kept on well, led only late on but had a bit in hand; his attitude can no longer be knocked one bit, determined to win the last twice in fact, and given that he's proving versatile with regards ground as well there's every reason to think he'll continue to run well.

is thriving on racing, showing further improvement from 6 lb higher than at Beverley here, pegged back only by another that's on the up; close up, ridden 2f out, led entering final 1f, kept on, collared only late on; he'll continue to give a good account.

remains in good form, doing well under the circumstances here, best of those from off the pace; in rear, took strong hold, headway when met some trouble over 1f out, forced to switch to stand rail, kept on well and finished with running left.

thrived on being kept busy through the summer and might have needed the run to sharpen him back up after an 8-week break; chased leaders, pushed along 2f out, one paced, not unduly punished; it could be a plus that he goes into the backend of the season relatively fresh.

after 10 months off, had little go right in the race and is well worth another chance as he basically seemed to be saved for another day by his rider; hampered start, immediately on the back foot and raced off the pace (usually front runs), never landed a blow but was considerately handled.

A competitive sprint and a trio that arrived at the top of their game filled the first 3 places; there was a contested pace but they didn't tear off and it didn't play into the hands of those held up.

TARBOOSH has been a revelation this summer, turned around completely by a breathing operation, this fourth win from his last 6 starts coming from a 15 lb higher mark than the first of them, and he could have won by more than half-a-length (should be rated accordingly); tracked pace, took strong hold, headway when switched approaching final 1f, kept on well, led only late on but had a bit in hand; his attitude can no longer be knocked one bit, determined to win the last twice in fact, and given that he's proving versatile with regards ground as well there's every reason to think he'll continue to run well.

ARZAAK (IRE) doesn't have a lot in hand of his mark necessarily but is running consistently well; prominent, challenged over 1f out, kept on, had every chance.

STANGHOW wasn't disgraced but had no excuses; led, headed entering final 1f, no extra.

SILVANUS (IRE) remains in good form, doing well under the circumstances here, best of those from off the pace; in rear, took strong hold, headway when met some trouble over 1f out, forced to switch to stand rail, kept on well and finished with running left.
