confirmed promise of last run to shed maiden tag, and the style of victory suggests she's better than ever; in rear, travelled strongly, switched to far side and good headway around 2f out, produced to lead around 1f out, won readily; not exposed at 1m, whilst the way she went through this suggests even shorter trips will be fine, and she should give a good account in follow-up bid.

back up in trip, was strong in the betting sporting first-time cheekpieces and down in grade after 6 weeks off, and duly got back to the sort of form he showed in Ireland at 3 yrs; waited with, headway 3f out, never getting to winner final 1f but kept on well; has been given a chance by the handicapper and one to bear in mind now he's back in the groove.

after 5 weeks off, again ran well; mid-division, went prominent around 3f out, every chance 1f out, ran on; his consistency means the handicapper is proving slow to relent, though, helping to explain his poor strike rate.

took a step back in the right direction, faring best of those ridden prominently; close up, effort around 2f out, not quicken, not unduly punished; possibly still working his way back to full fitness and likely to be below last winning mark when next seen.

claimer ridden, found run of good form coming to a halt, possibly finding the race coming too soon after just 5 days off, whilst he was also close to the strong gallop; close up, upsides 3f out, headed under 2f out, weakened final 1f; remains on a handy mark and is usually quite reliable, so good chance this will prove to be just a blip.

Non Runners: HITMAN.

Winning Owner: Ms Gillian Khosla

Time: 1m 39.15s Closing Sectional: (3f): 37.7s (98.7%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 122%, Betfair SP 96.7%

A solid piece of handicap form, the winner building on promise shown a week earlier, the runner-up down to a good mark and the frame completed by a couple with good recent efforts to their name; the gallop was strong and the principals all came from mid-field or further back, as is often the case here the action developing towards the far side; Hitman was withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls.

VERDIGRIS (IRE) confirmed promise of last run to shed maiden tag, and the style of victory suggests she's better than ever; in rear, travelled strongly, switched to far side and good headway around 2f out, produced to lead around 1f out, won readily; not exposed at 1m, whilst the way she went through this suggests even shorter trips will be fine, and she should give a good account in follow-up bid.

PLACEBO EFFECT (IRE) well backed and wasted no time getting back to form; mid-division, went in snatches, headway under pressure over 1f out, stuck to task.

COVIGLIA (IRE) took a step back in the right direction, faring best of those ridden prominently; close up, effort around 2f out, not quicken, not unduly punished; possibly still working his way back to full fitness and likely to be below last winning mark when next seen.

STONEYFORD LANE (IRE) upped in trip and without the usual headgear, fared no better; mid-field, faded.

DUBAI ACCLAIM (IRE) whose rider is good value for claim, proved to be a disappointment, his run style in contrast to a couple of starts ago, adding weight to the idea that he may not be 100% straightforward; mid-division, driven around 3f out, headway under pressure soon after, weakened.
