turned in best effort of the season to gain a belated first success on turf; slowly into stride, dropped out, headway on bridle around 2f out, produced to lead final 1f, pushed out; benefited from both a good ride and well-run race, and will be vulnerable off higher marks.

back up in trip/back on turf after 5 weeks off, shaped better than the distance beaten suggests; forced pace, went with zest, ridden under 3f out, headed final 1f, no extra; ridden too aggressively over trip that is a maximum for him and did enough to suggest he's just as good on turf as all-weather so one to look out for, probably back at 7f.
