proved alarmingly easy to back, perhaps in part on the back of some negative reports from the trainer regarding his fitness (had missed an engagement just 5 days earlier), but continues to progress in leaps and bounds, taking the step up into graded company in his stride, ideally suited by the way the race developed, and with the perfect partner in the saddle given such circumstances; raced well off the pace, typically travelled well, though still last early in straight, rapid headway approaching last, led flat, shaken up to assert; he's been successful over a longer trip during this well-publicised winning sequence, which opens up more avenues for him, and there is no evidence to suggest that his remarkable ascent through the ranks will come to an end any time soon, an 84-rated handicapper as recently as September.

was easy to back himself close to the off, the choice of the subsequently stood-down Paul Townend when final declarations were made, and though meeting with defeat for the first time has made a most promising start, beaten only by a rival who would play his hand even later, still looking the likeliest winner until making a late error; mid-division, travelled as well as any, took closer order after 3 out, ridden entering straight, led before last, untidy there, headed soon after, no match for winner.

ran at least as well as when getting off the mark at Naas 5 weeks earlier, doing especially well under the circumstances, lasting longer than possibly entitled to having raced very freely; soon well clear, hit fourth, reduced advantage 2 out, headed early in straight, held when not fluent last; could do with settling better and can progress further when he does so.

attracted late support, though the form of his wide-margin Thurles maiden success 8 weeks earlier has taken several knocks since, and he couldn't take the step forward required for this grade; chased leader, raced freely, pushed along soon after 2 out, weakened before last.

An up-to-scratch renewal of this Grade 2; Echoes In Rain soon established a sizeable advantage and the field got racing a long way out, Dreal Deal sweeping past the whole field in the latter stages and almost certainly suited by the way the race developed.

DREAL DEAL (IRE) proved alarmingly easy to back, perhaps in part on the back of some negative reports from the trainer regarding his fitness (had missed an engagement just 5 days earlier), but continues to progress in leaps and bounds, taking the step up into graded company in his stride, ideally suited by the way the race developed, and with the perfect partner in the saddle given such circumstances; raced well off the pace, typically travelled well, though still last early in straight, rapid headway approaching last, led flat, shaken up to assert; he's been successful over a longer trip during this well-publicised winning sequence, which opens up more avenues for him, and there is no evidence to suggest that his remarkable ascent through the ranks will come to an end any time soon, an 84-rated handicapper as recently as September.
