overcame the rise in class in good style, continuing the theme of run-to-run progression; made all, went with zest, kicked on entering straight, kept on gamely despite tiring late on; he'll be suited by 1¼m and looks the type to do even better as a 3-y-o.

strong in the betting with this increased emphasis on stamina expected to suit (yard also took this last season), ran well up in grade but was made to look rather slow; raced off the pace, went in snatches, rallied entering straight, threatened over 1f out, wandered entering final 1f, stuck to task; will be suited by 1¼m next season.

coped well with the step up in grade, just beaten by a pair of fellow improvers; waited with, headway from 3f out, threatened over 1f out, one paced; he's more of a stayer than his pedigree would suggest and will get 1¼m next season.

About as testing as it gets for 2-y-os over this trip, the trio that came clear - 3 progressive, southern-trained juveniles - all likely to be plying their trade over further next season, King Carney the best prospect of the lot and rated an up-to-scratch winner.

KING CARNEY overcame the rise in class in good style, continuing the theme of run-to-run progression; made all, went with zest, kicked on entering straight, kept on gamely despite tiring late on; he'll be suited by 1¼m and looks the type to do even better as a 3-y-o.
