took advantage of a drop in grade with the headgear back on, drawing away to win with plenty in hand, clearly very smart when circumstances allow it, but this was just his second success and he hasn't always looked straightforward when forced to really work hard in more competitive races; prominent, travelled fluently, led 1f out, kept going well.

has proven a touch vulnerable since last summer's York win but shaped better than the bare result; held up, headway over 1f out, kept on, nearest at the finish, unsuited by the drop in trip; will prove suited by a return to 1¼m.

Convey is a very smart performer at his best and made short work of his easiest task for a while; the first 3 came a long way clear and are worth being positive about, with the third finding the trip inadequate.

CONVEY took advantage of a drop in grade with the headgear back on, drawing away to win with plenty in hand, clearly very smart when circumstances allow it, but this was just his second success and he hasn't always looked straightforward when forced to really work hard in more competitive races; prominent, travelled fluently, led 1f out, kept going well.
