returned to form from out of the blue, suited by the strong pace and taking advantage of a mark 9 lb lower than her last success, that being in this race 12 months ago; held up, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, good headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, ridden out, helped by being held up in a strongly-run race; will remain of interest from a handicapping perspective.

ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, unlucky to bump into a rejuvenated sort who had fallen in the weights, like that one suited by how this developed; in rear, ridden approaching 2f out, good headway 1f out, every chance soon after, stuck to task, helped by being held up in a strongly-run race.

seemed peked up by refitted cheekpieces and ran creditably, deserving extra credit given she helped set a strong pace, the pair closest to her early on filling the last two places; disputed lead, went with zest, shaken up early in straight, headed well inside final 1f, one paced.

Non Runners: SABREWING (IRE), EARLY BIRD (IRE). Race Distance Adjustment: +8 yds

Winning Owner: The Senators

Time: 1m 17.66s Closing Sectional: (2.00f): 27.65s (93.6%)

Not quite as competitive as it looked beforehand, particularly with the late withdrawal of Sabrewing, though it's form which makes sense nonetheless; the gallop was strong, the front pair both coming from well back.

GRAN CANARIA QUEEN returned to form from out of the blue, suited by the strong pace and taking advantage of a mark 9 lb lower than her last success, that being in this race 12 months ago; held up, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, good headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, ridden out, helped by being held up in a strongly-run race; will remain of interest from a handicapping perspective.

DUTCH MIST ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, unlucky to bump into a rejuvenated sort who had fallen in the weights, like that one suited by how this developed; in rear, ridden approaching 2f out, good headway 1f out, every chance soon after, stuck to task, helped by being held up in a strongly-run race.

APPLEBERRY (IRE) seemed peked up by refitted cheekpieces and ran creditably, deserving extra credit given she helped set a strong pace, the pair closest to her early on filling the last two places; disputed lead, went with zest, shaken up early in straight, headed well inside final 1f, one paced.

GALE SONG making handicap debut, shaped as if retaining all ability after 8 months off, her opening mark no more than fair but she is entitled to strip better for this; awkward leaving stalls, held up, ridden over 2f out, kept on inside final 1f.

ROSIE'S PREMIERE (IRE) claimer ridden, wasn't in the same form as last time; mid-field, ridden halfway, one paced, never nearer.

ZAINA RIZEENA ran below form on her first try sprinting; mid-division, ridden over 2f out, not quicken final 1f.

AZHAR fared little better in first-time cheekpieces; waited with, never on terms.

BAILEYS MIRAGE (FR) having first run on turf for this yard, has to prove she's as good on this surface but this effort is best ignored in isolation; disputed lead, ridden approaching 2f out, headed final 1f, snatched up soon after, weakened, went off too hard.
