HIDDEN HISTORY was backed as if defeat was out of the question and might well have backed up such a view under different circumstances, picked off by the final challenger having moved his way into things going strongly whilst the pace was still brisk; waited with, mistake 4 out, smooth headway next, quickened to lead soon after 2 out, tackled soon after, edged out late on; well worth another chance, with his Uttoxeter win starting out for the yard having worked out so well.

CHASING FIRE belatedly proved he retains a good level of ability after another 6 weeks off but seemingly gone are the days when he was a smooth-travelling sort (wore cheekpieces last 2 runs); raced lazily off the pace, headway under pressure from home turn, closing when pecked 2 out, threatened still last, no further impression.

FLORIDA DREAMS (IRE) ran well again, especially so under the circumstances, having done so much taking on a rival who ended up tailed off as they raced clear of the pack; helped force pace, went on from 4 out, reduced advantage 2 out, headed soon after, no extra run-in.

BOLD LIGHT (IRE) seemed found out in slightly better company following a 4 lb rise for winning a Kelso handicap that had gone his way; in touch, shaken up before 3 out, not quicken from next.

SERIOUS OPERATOR (IRE) stepped up on his comeback run for all he finished last of those not out of sight by the end; raced off the pace, in contention 2 out, no further impression.

DELLA CASA LUNGA (IRE) ran poorly down in trip away from just her own sex after 13 weeks off; disputed lead until 4 out, lost place next, tailed off.
