resumed winning ways in much calmer waters, capping a really productive novice hurdling campaign; settled in touch, went second seventh, upsides 3 out, went on approaching last, forged clear; promises to be even better when going chasing, an exciting prospect.

after 7 weeks off, didn't improve straight away for the step up to 3m but this was hardly much more of a test of stamina and he was sticking at it in the straight behind a good one; in touch, outpaced 3 out, went second 2 out, kept on, no match for winner; like the winner, he should do well when novice chasing next season.

wasn't disgraced stepping out of handicap company in first-time cheekpieces; in touch, pushed along entering straight, no threat 2 out; he's an ex-Irish pointer who has yet to have his stamina fully tested.

back in headgear, was beaten by more than the longer trip (should stay 3m+); held up, pushed along after 4 out, left behind after 3 out; he's another of these that will presumably be going novice chasing next season, certainly built for fences.
