took another healthy stride forward on only his second try at this trip to follow up his Kempton success, possible a more even gallop would have served him better still, and physically he's the type that should go on progressing at 4 yrs; never far away, quickened to lead over 2f out, headed briefly 1f out, went on again inside final 1f, stayed on well.

has 3 wins to her name over shorter at this track, so it was no surprise she coped better than most with the relative test of speed, doing well to come from last but edged out late; steadied at the start, in rear, headway 3f out, quickened to challenge 1f out, pulled clear of rest; she's now improved over a stone as a 5-y-o and will continue to command respect.

fell short in his hat-trick bid on first start since leaving Robert Eddery, not looking in quite the same form after a 7-week break, possible the softer going wasn't ideal; led 2f, remained prominent, every chance over 2f out, one paced.

was unable to adopt the same prominent pitch as on his previous 2 starts and looked short of gears the way the race was run, well worth another chance to show his effectiveness at this longer trip; mid-field, driven 3f out, not quicken.

A noticeable slackening of the pace along the back straight meant this was more a test of speed than stamina at the trip in spite of conditions, the first 2 clearly best equipped to cope on the day, the winner the sole 3-y-o in the line-up.

ST MAWES (IRE) took another healthy stride forward on only his second try at this trip to follow up his Kempton success, possible a more even gallop would have served him better still, and physically he's the type that should go on progressing at 4 yrs; never far away, quickened to lead over 2f out, headed briefly 1f out, went on again inside final 1f, stayed on well.
