bounced back to form as he picked up a second win of the season, a first at 5f for over 2 years (the previous one also at this track); in touch, outpaced under 2f out, stayed on to lead close home; the intermediate trip of the Portland suits him well and he'll be of some interest if turning up there, though he hasn't won a handicap in over 2 years.

confirmed his return to form, sticking well to his task once headed, just struggling to get back to quite the same level as last year; led, ridden under 2f out, tackled soon after, headed final 100 yds, kept on.

turned in his best effort of the season and would have finished second had he kept straight; in touch, raced freely, challenged over 1f out, led final 100 yds, edged left, headed close home; he often comes good in the latter part of the season so is back on the radar now.

strong in the betting after 8 weeks off, again failed to meet expectations, taking too long to pick up when asked, the blinkers he wore last year looking needed again; chased leader, not quicken over 1f out, carried head bit awkwardly, kept on again final 100 yds.

(by Heeraat: second foal: dam, unreliable 5f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 5.7f Waseem Faris) found this much too competitive; slowly into stride, in rear, struggled with pace, dropped away 2f out.

A useful conditions event in which each of the experienced quartet held every chance, Danzeno finishing off best having been the first of the 4 to come under severe pressure, the pace fair given the small field.

DANZENO bounced back to form as he picked up a second win of the season, a first at 5f for over 2 years (the previous one also at this track); in touch, outpaced under 2f out, stayed on to lead close home; the intermediate trip of the Portland suits him well and he'll be of some interest if turning up there, though he hasn't won a handicap in over 2 years.

DUBAI STATION confirmed his return to form, sticking well to his task once headed, just struggling to get back to quite the same level as last year; led, ridden under 2f out, tackled soon after, headed final 100 yds, kept on.

TARBOOSH turned in his best effort of the season and would have finished second had he kept straight; in touch, raced freely, challenged over 1f out, led final 100 yds, edged left, headed close home; he often comes good in the latter part of the season so is back on the radar now.

MOTAGALLY strong in the betting after 8 weeks off, again failed to meet expectations, taking too long to pick up when asked, the blinkers he wore last year looking needed again; chased leader, not quicken over 1f out, carried head bit awkwardly, kept on again final 100 yds.

BABYDUKE (by Heeraat: second foal: dam, unreliable 5f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 5.7f Waseem Faris) found this much too competitive; slowly into stride, in rear, struggled with pace, dropped away 2f out.
