was back on turf, but took the step up in grade in her stride, improving again and showing herself to be a very useful filly; held up, smooth headway early in straight, stayed on to lead 1f out; still strong at the finish and will likely stay further if required, but not much of a programme for staying fillies, so coming back to 1½m in the short term might be the way to go.

upped in trip, ran at least as well as when occupying the same position behind Windshear at Doncaster on her return, is proving herself to be a consistent and likeable filly; led, shaken up over 2f out, headed 1f out, kept on.

a smart 3-y-o, successful in this grade before a good sixth in the St Leger on his final start, stood out on form against these rivals but ran below form, though with some mitigation, might have needed run after 7 months off and only runner to be taken wide in the back straight; in touch, raced out wide in back straight, ridden over 3f out, laboured headway to claim third late on; obviously better judged on the pick of 3-y-o form, but will have a bit to prove when next seen.

had something to find and ran respectably after 5 months off, shaping as if she'll come on for the run, a little too fresh first time out with no pace on; chased leader, took strong hold, ridden over 3f out, weakened and lost third late on.

has presumably had his problems, off for 16 months prior to his only start last year (when he'd looked to retain all his ability) having been with Andre Fabre prior to that, and having been easy to back in first-time cheekpieces, they didn't look behind him as he was the first in trouble; chased leaders, pushed along early in straight, weakened soon after.

This has the feel of early-season form, therefore best not taken literally, a couple of fillies with fitness on their side pulling clear, though probably the only ones to give their running; the runner-up was allowed to dictate.

DEUCE AGAIN was back on turf, but took the step up in grade in her stride, improving again and showing herself to be a very useful filly; held up, smooth headway early in straight, stayed on to lead 1f out; still strong at the finish and will likely stay further if required, but not much of a programme for staying fillies, so coming back to 1½m in the short term might be the way to go.

ISLAND REMEDE upped in trip, ran at least as well as when occupying the same position behind Windshear at Doncaster on her return, is proving herself to be a consistent and likeable filly; led, shaken up over 2f out, headed 1f out, kept on.

FOREVER NOW a smart 3-y-o, successful in this grade before a good sixth in the St Leger on his final start, stood out on form against these rivals but ran below form, though with some mitigation, might have needed run after 7 months off and only runner to be taken wide in the back straight; in touch, raced out wide in back straight, ridden over 3f out, laboured headway to claim third late on; obviously better judged on the pick of 3-y-o form, but will have a bit to prove when next seen.

KASHGAR after 7 months off, was essentially out of his depth and always behind, doing as well as could be expected with his rider unable to claim.

ILE DE RE (FR) was never a threat after another absence, remains to be seen what ability he retains; held up, ridden early in straight, never involved.
