hasn't had a lot of racing so far but that could pay dividends this season, still totally unexposed, and every time he has made the track he's improved, making it 3 wins from 4 outings up in grade on this latest return from 9 months off, the 4f longer trip suiting well; prominent early but soon steadied back to mid-division, good progress to go close up again over 3f out, led 1f out, found plenty; will stay 2m and is open to further improvement.

who was last seen over hurdles in January, produced best effort to date back on the Flat, runner-up in this race for the second year in a row but going closer in a stronger renewal this time around; prominent, led over 3f out, headed 1f out, kept on, pulled clear of remainder; not sure to be in same form next time as doesn't have a consistent record.

ran creditably on first outing since leaving Lady Cecil after 6 months off but whether he's any more straightforward for being gelded remains to be seen and he might not be the easiest horse to place this season; in rear, headway over 3f out, in touch 2f out, one paced.

High Jinx, Biographer and Repeater have all made an impact in some of the higher profile staying events in recent years but with none of them producing their best form on the day this wasn't such a strong race as it might have been, whilst it wasn't run at a true enough gallop to get them fully sorted out, either; nevertheless, it was won by a lightly raced, progressive sort who could well go on to better things.

FLYING OFFICER (USA) hasn't had a lot of racing so far but that could pay dividends this season, still totally unexposed, and every time he has made the track he's improved, making it 3 wins from 4 outings up in grade on this latest return from 9 months off, the 4f longer trip suiting well; prominent early but soon steadied back to mid-division, good progress to go close up again over 3f out, led 1f out, found plenty; will stay 2m and is open to further improvement.
