stood out on his best form and wasn't required to run to quite that level, particularly with his market rival flopping, turning the tables on the runner-up from his surprise defeat at the Guineas meeting; held up, effort over 3f out, led 1f out, kept on well, had bit in hand; he's not in the King George, big pots abroard likely to be on the agenda again.

with a penalty for his defeat of Yibir in the Jockey Club Stakes, was unable to confirm placings, but ran well in defeat, back ridden more prominently after finishing last when held up on his last 2 starts; missed the break but soon tracked pace, shaken up 4f out, led briefly over 1f out, one paced.

ran well upped in grade, essentially used as a pacemaker for Yibir, every chance the Ebor will be the next stop, a race in which he didn't do himself full justice last year; led, shaken up 3f out, headed over 1f out, one paced.

ran respectably over an extra 2f again, perhaps not quite getting home, though plausible that he just wasn't good enough; awkwad leaving stalls, held up, effort over 3f out, no extra over 1f out.

back up in trip, had something to find in this company and ran to just a similar level to his first 2 starts of the year; in touch, not settle fully, shaken up over 4f out, weakened over 2f out.

looked the main threat to the winner on form, but ran poorly, his connections suggesting this was too soon after his good run at Ascot, likely to be best judged on that effort next time; waited with, travelled well, shaken up over 2f out, not quicken, weakened final 1f, eased.

All 6 ran.

Winning Owner: Godolphin

Time: 2m 28.91s

Overrounds: Industry SP 110%, Betfair SP 100.8%

Yibir had form more than good enough to win an average running of this race, and with Mostahdaf failing to give his running, he didn't need to run to his very best to score with something to spare.

YIBIR stood out on his best form and wasn't required to run to quite that level, particularly with his market rival flopping, turning the tables on the runner-up from his surprise defeat at the Guineas meeting; held up, effort over 3f out, led 1f out, kept on well, had bit in hand; he's not in the King George, big pots abroard likely to be on the agenda again.
