In contrast to the Two Thousand Guineas, this was not a vintage renewal of the fillies' classic, with several of those with the best form at 2 yrs failing to deliver, notably Tenebrism, the result pointing to the absence of the ante-post favourite Inspiral, who had beaten the first 2 in the Fillies' Mile last autumn, the form of the winner in her absence rated about as low as any winner of this race this century; the race was dominated by the winner, who made all under an excellently-judged ride, Doyle completing the classic double, though ironically Buick might have ridden both winners under other circumstances.

CACHET (IRE) followed up her win in the Nell Gwyn, the absence of Inspiral and the poor displays of some of the more fancied runners meaning that she didn't need to find quite so much improvement as anticipated, though this was still her best run yet, seen to advantage under a well-judged ride; made all, travelled well, shaken up over 2f out, in command over 1f out, driven final 1f, all out to hold on, proved game; she has evidently trained on well, but will surely face tougher tasks ahead.

PROSPEROUS VOYAGE (IRE) placed 3 times in pattern company at 2 yrs, had run her best race when runner-up in the Fillies' Mile, and though she couldn't confirm placings with the third that day, she returned another career best, sticking to her task well and closing down the winner at the line; handy, shaken up over 3f out, not quicken 2f out, kept on well inside final 1f; a lengthy, deep-girthed filly there could be more to come over the course of the season as she fills her frame, and she'll be at least as effective over further.

TUESDAY (IRE) has the pedigree and connections that mark her out as a potentially top-level performer and duly ran a cracker fast-tracked to classic company after just a couple of starts in maidens; in touch, headway before halfway, shaken up 3f out, not quicken 2f out, kept on final 1f; she's surely got more improvement in the pipeline and whilst this was a fine trial for the Oaks (will stay 1½m), she'd certainly be towards the head of the shortlist if taking in the Irish 1000 Guineas along the way.

ZELLIE (FR) turned the tables on Malavath from the Imprudence, much more about her physically than that rival, though she was still below her best and didn't look entirely at home on the track, the ground probably as lively as she'll have encountered as well; held up, shaken up soon after halfway, stayed on approaching final 1f, nearest at the finish; there's a fair bit of stamina on her dam side and she'll stay 1¼m.

SANDRINE third in the Cheveley Park at 2 yrs, in a campaign kept to 6f, ran creditably after 7 months off, every chance that she will improve for this trip another time, doing her best work late on; held up, travelled well, effort over 2f out, wandered, kept on well final 1f, nearest at the finish.

AMEYNAH (IRE) was thrown in at the deep end following her maiden success and ran really well, despite not fully knowing what was required at this level, doing good work late on; held up, took strong hold, effort 3f out, ran green, stayed on final 1f, never on terms; she's set to progress again and looks as interesting as any of these for the future.

DISCOVERIES (IRE) winner of the Moyglare Stud Stakes at 2 yrs and bred to do better this time around, wasn't disgraced on her first outing of the campaign, perhaps just short of a run (uneasy in the betting); chased leader, shaken up over 3f out, faded from 2f out; doesn't require much improvement on the best of her form to trouble the principals here another time.

TENEBRISM (USA) looked the form pick in the absence of Inspiral and she looked in good order beforehand, but she never really got into much of a rhythm and ran some way below the form she showed when winning the Cheveley Park on her second and final start at 2 yrs, this not the race on which to judge her potential stamina for this trip, beaten by more than that; held up, headway under pressure 3f out, hung left over 1f out, no extra last ½f.

WILD BEAUTY ran poorly, in trouble a long way out, just not herself; held up, ridden halfway, labouring over 2f out.

MALAVATH (IRE) looked to have better form claims than most and disappointed, not seeming to handle the track that well; mid-division, lost place halfway, ridden soon after, rallied 2f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, no extra, eased off.

HELLO YOU (IRE) looked to have come on in terms of condition since the Nell Gwyn, but that clearly wasn't mirrored in her performance; in touch, raced freely, ridden over 2f out, not quicken, hampered over 1f out, no extra.

JUNCTURE ran poorly back on turf, though she faced a stiff task in this grade; steadied at the start, held up, labouring over 2f out.

FLASH BETTY was out of her depth; prominent, not settle fully, shaken up halfway, weakened 3f out.
