MASTER OF THE SEAS (IRE) in first-time hood, confirmed himself a smart colt, quickly putting his poor run last tme behind him, doing well after the runner-up got first run; held up, switched halfway, short of room over 2f out, headway approaching final 1f, led late on; he deserves his chance in the Guineas, though more will be required there.

LA BARROSA (IRE) ran his best race, getting first run on the winner but just unable to sustain the advantage; tracked pace, travelled well, had to wait for gap over 2f out, led 1f out, kept on, headed late on; he's not in the Guineas, but could be supplemented, the Poulains an alternative option.

MYSTERY SMILES (IRE) a useful sprinting 2-y-o, didn't appear to have grown since, but looked to find some improvement, stepping up to 1m, seeing things out well; waited with, not settle fully, effort over 2f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on late on; he's probably not going to be easy to place.

DEVILWALA (IRE) was below form after 5 months off, still to confirm his run in the Dewhurst, though probably worth one more chance to do so, this trip possibly stretching him; pressed leader, went on 3f out, shaken up over 2f out, headed 1f out, faded.

THE ROSSTAFARIAN (IRE) still looked raw 6 months on from when last seen, not entirely at home on the track, and did well to get as close as he did, on less testing ground than previously; held up, not settle fully, hampered halfway, labouring over 2f out, kept on final 1f, nearest at the finish; capable of better.

SANDHURST (IRE) off 6 months, fared the better of the 2 O'Brien runners, but made little impact up in class; held up, effort over 2f out, made little impression; he's bred to stay middle distances and may yet do better.

ROYAL AIR FORCE (IRE) ran to a similar level as on debut, asking a lot of him to take on this company off the back of that win and a 10-month break; held up, effort over 2f out, made little impression.

IMPERIAL SANDS (IRE) was taking a big step up in class, barely a month on from his debut, and wasn't up to the task; handy, not settle fully, weakened 2f out.

AKMAAM (FR) looked to have developed well since his 2-y-o days, but ran poorly off a winter break; tracked pace, lost place 3f out.

KHARTOUM (USA) looks the part, but was well held, up in grade, on rather different ground from that on which he won his maiden; led until 3f out, hung right, dropped away quickly.
