came up short at the top table when last seen in Dubai but, after 3 months off, bounced back to his best as he resumed winning ways; in touch, headway on bridle over 3f out, led under 2f out, ridden out; he'll remain a force at this sort of level but will be vulnerable in a Group 1 in this country, his best chance of success at that level likely to come overseas.

who sweated up beforehand, ran well, back to his best in fact, though had every chance and, whilst clearly a smart performer, he doesn't seem likely to hit the heights expected early in his 3-y-o campaign; led, headed under 2f out, rallied, kept on; he's seeing his races out better now, likely to stay 1¾m as a result, for all he's not bred to.

ran up to best, in spite of the drop back in trip, though never looked like getting past either of the front 2; soon steadied, took keen hold, headway over 2f out, chased leaders soon after, kept on; he;ll benefit from return to at least 1¾m and should remain competitive as a stayer, so long as he's not overfaced.

shaped as if still in good form, running respectably but just seeming to lack for a bit of pace to really get involved; raced off the pace, pushed along 3f out, kept on without threatening; he looks worth another try at 1¾m, yet to show his best at that sort of trip but not beaten solely for lack of stamina on any of the occasions.

underperformed, his finishing effort uncharacteristically lacking; prominent, travelled better than most, every chance over 2f out, hung left over 1f out, found less than looked likely; he's the sort to bounce back quickly given his generally consistent profile.

An ordinary renewal of this Group 2, lacking anything really on the up, the one 3-y-o present clearly not firing, with several others just not quite up to this level, the pair with the best form coming to the fore in a fairly-run race.

BEST SOLUTION (IRE) came up short at the top table when last seen in Dubai but, after 3 months off, bounced back to his best as he resumed winning ways; in touch, headway on bridle over 3f out, led under 2f out, ridden out; he'll remain a force at this sort of level but will be vulnerable in a Group 1 in this country, his best chance of success at that level likely to come overseas.

MIRAGE DANCER who sweated up beforehand, ran well, back to his best in fact, though had every chance and, whilst clearly a smart performer, he doesn't seem likely to hit the heights expected early in his 3-y-o campaign; led, headed under 2f out, rallied, kept on; he's seeing his races out better now, likely to stay 1¾m as a result, for all he's not bred to.

DURETTO ran up to best, in spite of the drop back in trip, though never looked like getting past either of the front 2; soon steadied, took keen hold, headway over 2f out, chased leaders soon after, kept on; he;ll benefit from return to at least 1¾m and should remain competitive as a stayer, so long as he's not overfaced.

MUNTAHAA (IRE) shaped as if still in good form, running respectably but just seeming to lack for a bit of pace to really get involved; raced off the pace, pushed along 3f out, kept on without threatening; he looks worth another try at 1¾m, yet to show his best at that sort of trip but not beaten solely for lack of stamina on any of the occasions.

BARSANTI (IRE) underperformed, his finishing effort uncharacteristically lacking; prominent, travelled better than most, every chance over 2f out, hung left over 1f out, found less than looked likely; he's the sort to bounce back quickly given his generally consistent profile.

LARAAIB (IRE) clearly wasn't 100% on the day, beaten before the longer trip came into the equation; in touch, lost place over 2f out, eased off.

RAA ATOLL who sweated up beforehand, clearly wasn't 100% on the day; prominent, folded tamely over 2f out, eased off.
