improved further to make a winning start to his season over 1f longer trip after 7 months off, shaping really positively with an eye towards longer trips, his stamina really kicking in late on, and he's well up to winning in group company over 1¼m+; in touch, ridden 2f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f; will go on improving and is one to keep on side.

excelled himself under a positive ride back on turf over this slightly longer trip, although didn't have to overexert himself to open a clear lead by halfway and did have a fitness edge over most of his rivals, so was probably seen to maximum effect; led, travelled well, kicked on 2f out, hung left final 1f, headed close home.

failed to meet expectations but still showed enough to be positive about on his return from 6 months off, not given anything like a hard time starting his campaign over an inadequate trip (will stay 1½m); mid-field, ridden 2f out, not quicken for hand riding; he should come on for this reappearance and there's more to come as his stamina is drawn out, so he remains with potential.

was found out for lack of experience upped markedly in grade over 2f longer trip after 9 months off, very green for the most part but managing some headway in the closing stages, sure to have learnt plenty from this; held up, ridden over 2f out and soon in trouble, hung left, late headway; remains with potential.

was probably up against it under a penalty for a small-field group race success as a juvenile (standout effort), but finished that campaign on a low note anyway and fared no better in first-time cheekpieces after 6 months off; raced stand side, mid-field, ridden 2f out, weakened over 1f out.

Fortune's Pearl was fit from the all-weather and made a bold bid from the front, putting his speed to good use and having most of these in trouble 2f out, but the winner is going to stay further than this and collared him late on in a race which few got in to; the main action took place down the centre with 2 racing on the stands rail and struggling.

MILDENBERGER improved further to make a winning start to his season over 1f longer trip after 7 months off, shaping really positively with an eye towards longer trips, his stamina really kicking in late on, and he's well up to winning in group company over 1¼m+; in touch, ridden 2f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f; will go on improving and is one to keep on side.
