may not have the wow factor of some multiple Group 1 winners but that's less reflective in her rating after this performance, a career best, and what's for certain is that she's tremendously tough and genuine, her straightforward style and never-say-die attitude never more evident than it was this day as she bounced straight back from a below-par run to add to her Falmouth and Prix Rothschild wins; stall 1 wasn't an ideal start point but she broke well and soon crossed towards the stand side to lead, then after being headed 2f out when already under pressure she battled back, leading again inside the final 1f and staying on strongly, still extending the advantage at the line; the Breeders Cup is a likely target, the Fillies and Mares turf run over 9f this year, and that extra 1f won't be a problem for Roly Poly.

had been behind Roly Poly at Deauville and ahead of her at Leopardstown last time, strong in the betting to uphold that latest form, but she wasn't able to, running very well but beaten on merit having always had the winner in her sights; tracked pace, pushed along over 2f out, switched over 1f out, every chance inside final 1f, one paced; she's been very consistent and has knocked on the door at this level, placed on 3 of 4 starts in Group 1s, but she'll reportedly be retired to stud now.

peaked some time ago, her rating not having improved since finishing second in the French Guineas last spring, but she's held her form very well this year and added another Group-1 placing to her record on what is apparently her final start before retired to stud; mid-division, headway under pressure over 1f out, stayed on, took third close home.

shaped very similarly to how she had at Royal Ascot in the summer, leaving the impression that she should have finished closer, left with a lot to do and needing luck the way she was ridden, and the gaps didn't come in time; dropped out, headway 3f out, met some trouble around 2f out, had to pick way through inside final 1f, stayed on well, never nearer; if the cards did ever drop right then she's talented enough to win a Group 1.

All 13 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr M. Tabor, D. Smith & Mrs John Magnier

Time: 1m 34.88s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 34.45s (103.3%)

With Winter having moved up in trip in the second half of the year these top fillies Group 1s over a mile have looked tightly-knit and competitive, but 3 times now Roly Poly has won them, beating plenty of the same rivals as previously here; it seemed that the stand side was the ideal place to be and Ryan Moore soon got the winner across from stall one, with the other principals all drawn high.

ROLY POLY (USA) may not have the wow factor of some multiple Group 1 winners but that's less reflective in her rating after this performance, a career best, and what's for certain is that she's tremendously tough and genuine, her straightforward style and never-say-die attitude never more evident than it was this day as she bounced straight back from a below-par run to add to her Falmouth and Prix Rothschild wins; stall 1 wasn't an ideal start point but she broke well and soon crossed towards the stand side to lead, then after being headed 2f out when already under pressure she battled back, leading again inside the final 1f and staying on strongly, still extending the advantage at the line; the Breeders Cup is a likely target, the Fillies and Mares turf run over 9f this year, and that extra 1f won't be a problem for Roly Poly.

PERSUASIVE (IRE) had been behind Roly Poly at Deauville and ahead of her at Leopardstown last time, strong in the betting to uphold that latest form, but she wasn't able to, running very well but beaten on merit having always had the winner in her sights; tracked pace, pushed along over 2f out, switched over 1f out, every chance inside final 1f, one paced; she's been very consistent and has knocked on the door at this level, placed on 3 of 4 starts in Group 1s, but she'll reportedly be retired to stud now.

NATHRA (IRE) peaked some time ago, her rating not having improved since finishing second in the French Guineas last spring, but she's held her form very well this year and added another Group-1 placing to her record on what is apparently her final start before retired to stud; mid-division, headway under pressure over 1f out, stayed on, took third close home.

USHERETTE (IRE) shaped very similarly to how she had at Royal Ascot in the summer, leaving the impression that she should have finished closer, left with a lot to do and needing luck the way she was ridden, and the gaps didn't come in time; dropped out, headway 3f out, met some trouble around 2f out, had to pick way through inside final 1f, stayed on well, never nearer; if the cards did ever drop right then she's talented enough to win a Group 1.

DAWN OF HOPE (IRE) faced a stiff task in a Group 1 but ran a cracker, her best ever performance under a more positive ride than usual; close up, travelled well, edged ahead 2f out, headed inside final 1f, no extra final 100 yds and lost 2 places towards the finish.

QEMAH (IRE) isn't far behind Roly Poly on ability but she is more reliant on circumstance and again shaped better than the bare result; raced wide, held up, headway over 1f out, ran on, nearest at the finish, left poorly placed.

MUFFRI'HA (IRE) shaped as if still in good form and had just done a bit too much early to see her race out; pulled way into prominent position after 2f, shaken up over 2f out, weakened inside final 1f.

ALLURINGLY (USA) faced a stiff task and ran as well as could be expected; mid-division, took keen hold, headway over 1f out, no extra inside final 1f.

ALJAZZI is better than this and wasn't seen to best effect; raced wide, held up, effort over 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, effort flattened out, not ideally placed.

SIYOUSHAKE (IRE) found her run of good form coming to a halt but her record suggests that she'll quickly bounce back; in touch, outpaced over 2f out, hung left, weakened final 1f.

TOMYRIS was flying too high in this grade; held up, hampered soon after start, edged left over 1f out, never a threat.

SPANGLED faced a stiff task in this grade; held up, outpaced 3f out, never landed a blow.

ARABIAN HOPE (USA) is best not judged on this run, too free close up, and then as she lost her place around 2f out she was hampered (struggling at the time).
