resumed winning ways, needing to show a bit of improvement, but having a good position was also a contributory factor; close up, shaken up over 2f out, led entering final 100 yds, kept on, unseated after line; he'll probably be one to take on next time.

had cheekpieces on in addition to the hood worn last time and ran at least as well, having the run of things but deserving credit for how she's held her form pretty much all the way through a busy first season; led, joined 2f out, edged out inside final 100 yds.

ran one of his better races and deserves extra credit given how things panned out, caught further back than ideal and doing best of those to come from off the pace; held up, headway 3f out, chased leaders over 1f out, kept on, finished with running left; it's not been the trip to blame when below form over 1m previously, that trip and further likely to suit on pedigree.

again ran creditably, at least as effective over this longer trip than he'd previously tried; chased leaders, pushed along 3f out, ran on; he's promised more on occasions than he's delivered, but there's still time for him to do better than he has so far.

was gambled on after 6 weeks off, and having been given a chance by the handicapper (5 lb lower than previous nursery start), shaped well given he wasn't seen to best effect; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, finished strongly having been caught further back than ideal; this suggests he's one to be interested in.

Winning Owner: Steve & Jolene de'Lemos

Time: 1m 25.77s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 35.80s (102.7%)

An ordinary race by Newmarket standards for a 2-y-o race, the form just fair and it might not prove the most robust, most of the the principals having had a fair bit of racing, and a prominent position was an advantage, the third and fifth shaping well given where they had to come from.

TAP TAP BOOM resumed winning ways, needing to show a bit of improvement, but having a good position was also a contributory factor; close up, shaken up over 2f out, led entering final 100 yds, kept on, unseated after line; he'll probably be one to take on next time.

TEXAS KATIE had cheekpieces on in addition to the hood worn last time and ran at least as well, having the run of things but deserving credit for how she's held her form pretty much all the way through a busy first season; led, joined 2f out, edged out inside final 100 yds.

STAR MAKER ran one of his better races and deserves extra credit given how things panned out, caught further back than ideal and doing best of those to come from off the pace; held up, headway 3f out, chased leaders over 1f out, kept on, finished with running left; it's not been the trip to blame when below form over 1m previously, that trip and further likely to suit on pedigree.

PARYS MOUNTAIN (IRE) again ran creditably, at least as effective over this longer trip than he'd previously tried; chased leaders, pushed along 3f out, ran on; he's promised more on occasions than he's delivered, but there's still time for him to do better than he has so far.

SUFFRAGETTE CITY (IRE) fared better than of late but was seen to maximum effect, and was losing ground in the finish; close up, disputed lead 2f out, weakened final 100 yds.

MULLARKEY wasn't disgraced, strictly speaking probably dipping below Goodwood form turning out off the same mark, but the test of speed keeping to this trip didn't suit; in touch, ridden 3f out, kept on, finished with running left.

PLATO'S KODE (IRE) has improvement to find from what looks a stiffish opening mark, but this suggests he could yet step up, matching his previous best despite not being seen to best effect; held up, shaken up 3f out, ran on late, had a hopeless task from position; remains open to improvement.

ELEMENTARY seems highly strung, fitted with a hood and gelded since last seen, neither seeming to have done much for him as he went through the rails pre-race, below form in the race itself; mid-field, ridden halfway, lost place over 1f out.

UNCLE CHARLIE (IRE) making his handicap debut and better judged on maiden win as easy to put a line through this run, too lit up after nearly unseating his rider leaving the stalls; stumbled start, chased leaders, pulled hard, effort 3f out, weakened over 1f out.

PRESENCE PROCESS was making his handicap debut and though running below form, is best not judged on this run, seeming unsuited by the track; mid-field, outpaced 3f out, ran green and wandered entering the Dip, weakened.
