relished the 1f longer trip and produced a much-improved effort, turning the tables on her stable companion from the Moyglare Stud Stakes in no uncertain terms; tracked pace, travelled well, headway over 2f out, led over 1f out, stayed on strongly; it's possible she will go to the Breeders' Cup, but, whether she does or not, she's surely going to be a leading player in top fillies races at 1m+ next year.

couldn't confirm placings with the winner from the Moyglare Stud Stakes over 1f longer trip, but she showed improvement herself, physique and pedigree suggesting she's no forlorn hope to make an impact in good races in 2017; raced stand side, led group, shaken up 3f out, chased leader over 1f out, kept on well.

was no match for the first 2, but ran up to best, seeing the trip out well this time, some below-par rivals enabling her to pick up some more black type, connections pretty well rewarded for an ambitious campaign; raced near side, tracked pace, ridden over 2f out, stayed on, made no impression.

had shown enough in winning the May Hill to think she was a player at this slightly higher level, but she just wasn't in the same form, this track perhaps not suiting her so well; close up, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, not quicken.

up in grade, had won so well here last month that she was expected to make an impact, but she proved a sorry disappointment, seeming ill at ease in the Dip, once off the bridle; handy, effort over 2f out, looked awkward and labouring soon after.

easy to back up in grade, disappointed after 6 weeks off over 1f longer trip, quickly beaten; led, headed around 2f out, folded; the form of her maiden win has worked out well and she may yet show to better advantage.

All 8 ran.

Winning Owner: Mrs John Magnier,Mr M.Tabor & Mr D.Smith

Time: 1m 37.73s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 36.40s (100.7%)

This looked an open running of what has become the premier British race for staying fillies, featuring the winner of the May Hill, a pair placed in a Group 1 at 7f and a trio of promising maiden winners stepping up in class; as it turned out, only 2 of those 6 came close to expectations, but both clearly benefited from the step up to 1m and showed improved form, the winner producing a performance well up to standard for the race, behind only Minding among recent winners; the second and third raced apart from the others, towards the stands rail, which perhaps suggests the winner has done even better than the bare result, given how the rest of her group fared.

RHODODENDRON (IRE) relished the 1f longer trip and produced a much-improved effort, turning the tables on her stable companion from the Moyglare Stud Stakes in no uncertain terms; tracked pace, travelled well, headway over 2f out, led over 1f out, stayed on strongly; it's possible she will go to the Breeders' Cup, but, whether she does or not, she's surely going to be a leading player in top fillies races at 1m+ next year.

RICH LEGACY (IRE) had shown enough in winning the May Hill to think she was a player at this slightly higher level, but she just wasn't in the same form, this track perhaps not suiting her so well; close up, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, not quicken.

SOBETSU up in grade, had won so well here last month that she was expected to make an impact, but she proved a sorry disappointment, seeming ill at ease in the Dip, once off the bridle; handy, effort over 2f out, looked awkward and labouring soon after.

SPATIAL easy to back up in grade, disappointed after 6 weeks off over 1f longer trip, quickly beaten; led, headed around 2f out, folded; the form of her maiden win has worked out well and she may yet show to better advantage.
