was one of the least exposed in the field and improved further to resume winning ways making tapeta debut, much smarter from the stalls with his reappearance under his belt and duly able to dictate matters thereafter, hanging on despite wanting to lug left throughout the final 1f; made all, ridden 2f out, hung left 1f out, kept on, had the run of the race.

had bolted up here 3 months earlier and really should have repeated the trick, Oisin Murphy taking over this time but misjudging the pace, still sitting confidently 2f out when the gallop quickened and just unable to make up the 6 lengths asked of him in the final 1f; steadied at the start, held up, travelled well, headway 1f out, ridden final 1f, ran on, just failed, left with too much to do; sure to be of interest again around here, but is yet to prove his effectiveness on turf.

ran creditably over a trip which looks on the short side for him nowadays, at least when the pace is only modest like it was here; mid-field, pushed along 2f out, headway under pressure final 1f, kept on, needs the emphasis more on stamina.

isn't as well treated as some of these after a good winter but shaped as if still in good form on return from 3 months off, not seen to best effect; mid-field, pushed along 2f out, headway when short of room last ½f, effort flattened out, not unduly punished, would have benefited from a stronger gallop.

Loads of likeable types on show in this useful handicap and there's no crabbing the make up of the frame, though the order can be, the second very unlucky not to win, Old Harrovian set far too much to do in a race where the pace was on the modest side.

SALAMANCA was one of the least exposed in the field and improved further to resume winning ways making tapeta debut, much smarter from the stalls with his reappearance under his belt and duly able to dictate matters thereafter, hanging on despite wanting to lug left throughout the final 1f; made all, ridden 2f out, hung left 1f out, kept on, had the run of the race.
