was back from a short break with his best effort for some time, no coincidence that it came on his return to the all-weather, lightly raced on artificial surfaces but both wins this season having come over C&D: disputed lead after 2f, went on over 2f out, in command final 1f, stayed on well; he's never had a winter campaign but that's an option worth exploring now.

isn't one to trust but undoubtedly caught the eye, leaving the impression he could've finished closer; held up, not clear run entering final 1f, never nearer, not knocked about; he'll get into 0-85s now and is going to be hard to leave out of calculations next time.

The winner wasn't the most obvious one but the pair that gave closest pursuit looked the 2 leading contenders, suggesting this form is solid.

BRIAN THE SNAIL (IRE) was back from a short break with his best effort for some time, no coincidence that it came on his return to the all-weather, lightly raced on artificial surfaces but both wins this season having come over C&D: disputed lead after 2f, went on over 2f out, in command final 1f, stayed on well; he's never had a winter campaign but that's an option worth exploring now.

LATIN FIVE (IRE) failed to repeat last effort on his first handicap outing for this yard, not obviously well treated from this mark anyway; close up, raced freely, effort 2f out, faded final 1f; he'll come good at some point but it might take a few more runs.

ELECTRICAL STORM gelded since last seen, looked rusty in first-time cheekpieces after 13 months off, his opening mark demanding progress anyway; in touch, outpaced over 2f out, no chance after.

ILLUSIONIST (GER) making all-weather debut, failed to build on the promise of last run; mid-division, ridden over 2f out, made no impression.

SHOW ME SHOW ME without the headgear this time, fared no better; never involved.

WILD EDRIC back on all-weather, back down in trip, wasn't in the same form as last time; led, joined after 2f, weakened entering final 1f.

DEPUTISE again finished well held; steadied at the start, always behind.

KOROPICK (IRE) doesn't have much of a future on the evidence of 2 runs back so far; in rear, took strong hold, first beaten.
