after 12 weeks off, resumed progress back in slightly calmer waters, taking well to all-weather at the first attempt, suggesting a continued campaign after the end of the turf season could pay dividends; mid-division, headway entering final 1f, stayed on to lead final 50 yds.

last seen finishing an even closer second in this race in 2018 (on his final outing for Luca Cumani), ran at least as well to repeat the placing a year on, seeing it out well considering he was free early, unexposed as a sprinter and set for a profitable winter assuming he stays sound; close up, raced freely, led final 1f, collared final 50 yds.

back on all-weather, bounced back to form and could easily step up the revival another notch considering this didn't get to the bottom of him, clearly well handicapped remembering he won a listed race on this surface earlier in the year; held up, travelled well, had to pick way through final 1f, took third near finish.

is tricky at the best of times but undoubtedly shaped better than the bare result, left with an impossible task after his rider elected to leave everything to pure chance; dwelt, raced well off the pace, travelled strongly but with horses in front of him on the inside, still last approaching last ½f, got gap soon after, finished strongly; he was similarly unlucky in this race last year before winning at Kempton the following week and, with an entry in that race this time round, it'd be no surprise to see history repeat itself.

All 14 ran.

Winning Owner: Al Shaqab Racing

Time: 1m 12.19s Closing Sectional: (2.00f): 23.70s (101.5%)

An optional claimer but not one ran off a reduced mark and a bunched finish is evidence of a messy race, the winner doing well but several not seen to best effect as the field congested towards the stand rail.

BURIDAN (FR) after 12 weeks off, resumed progress back in slightly calmer waters, taking well to all-weather at the first attempt, suggesting a continued campaign after the end of the turf season could pay dividends; mid-division, headway entering final 1f, stayed on to lead final 50 yds.

WARSAW ROAD (IRE) last seen finishing an even closer second in this race in 2018 (on his final outing for Luca Cumani), ran at least as well to repeat the placing a year on, seeing it out well considering he was free early, unexposed as a sprinter and set for a profitable winter assuming he stays sound; close up, raced freely, led final 1f, collared final 50 yds.

ABOVE THE REST (IRE) back on all-weather, bounced back to form and could easily step up the revival another notch considering this didn't get to the bottom of him, clearly well handicapped remembering he won a listed race on this surface earlier in the year; held up, travelled well, had to pick way through final 1f, took third near finish.

MUSCIKA claimer ridden, in a change of headgear, ran about as well as he seems capable at the minute, a little way shy of his seasonal peak; led until final 1f, no extra final 50 yds.

SALUTI (IRE) remains in good form; chased leaders, ridden when denied a run over 1f out, kept on.

INTISAAB in different headgear and without a tongue strap, wasn't disgraced but had fewer excuses than most; in touch, effort approaching final 1f, one paced.

POLYBIUS is tricky at the best of times but undoubtedly shaped better than the bare result, left with an impossible task after his rider elected to leave everything to pure chance; dwelt, raced well off the pace, travelled strongly but with horses in front of him on the inside, still last approaching last ½f, got gap soon after, finished strongly; he was similarly unlucky in this race last year before winning at Kempton the following week and, with an entry in that race this time round, it'd be no surprise to see history repeat itself.

LUCKY LUCKY MAN (IRE) wasn't disgraced but was under the pump a fair way out and never looked a threat; raced wide, mid-division, ridden over 2f out, kept on; he'll be better off in 0-75s after his disappointing season and also looks worth a try over 7f.

FIRMDECISIONS (IRE) remains in good form; held up, effort out wide over 1f out, ran on, never a threat, had a hopeless task from position.

ATHOLLBLAIR BOY (IRE) shaped as if still in good form; mid-field, shuffled back approaching final 1f, kept on.

PADDY POWER (IRE) was below form, not that the race really got to the bottom of him; held up, shaken up over 1f out, made little impression.

TOMMY G back on all-weather, was below form; chased leaders, challenged approaching final 1f, faded.

STAXTON proved to be a disappointment back at the scene of this season's win, evidently just short of top form at the minute as opposed to being better on this surface than turf; raced wide, chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened final 1f.

EQUIANO SPRINGS back on all-weather, underperformed; dwelt, chased leaders, challenged 2f out, weakened final 1f.
