ran well on the back of a small rise, much better than the rest but bumping into one perked up by headgear; mid-field, travelled strongly, challenged 1f out, stayed on, pulled clear of remainder; will continue to give a good account.

showed some of his old quirks again, slowly away and racing too freely after 8 weeks off; slowly into stride, held up, refused to settle, headway over 1f out, had to wait for gap soon after, not quicken when in the clear final 1f.

Custard The Dragon was perked up by first-time visor and produced a career-best effort to hold off a course specialist at the top of his game, the pair of them pulling clear.

CUSTARD THE DRAGON was back down to last winning mark and in more severe headgear (visor replacing cheekpieces), and ran as well as he's ever done to come out on top; in touch, raced freely, good headway over 1f out, led final 1f, dug deep under pressure; should remain competitive.

PORTLEDGE (IRE) ran well on the back of a small rise, much better than the rest but bumping into one perked up by headgear; mid-field, travelled strongly, challenged 1f out, stayed on, pulled clear of remainder; will continue to give a good account.

RECKLESS ENDEAVOUR (IRE) back in headgear, was down in grade but ran to just a similar level to last time; dwelt, in rear, switched over 1f out, kept on, nearest at the finish.

DEANSGATE (IRE) showed some of his old quirks again, slowly away and racing too freely after 8 weeks off; slowly into stride, held up, refused to settle, headway over 1f out, had to wait for gap soon after, not quicken when in the clear final 1f.

FOLLOWTHESTEPS (IRE) making handicap debut, wasn't in the same form as last time; prominent, ridden over 1f out, weakened final 1f.

THE GREAT WALL (USA) again ran below form; mid-field, went with little fluency, driven 3f out, weakened over 1f out; plenty to prove at present.

MALASPINA (ITY) back down in trip, followed a below-par effort with an even worse one; took strong hold, led, shaken up 2f out, headed over 1f out, weakened.
