ran about as well as could be expected from 23 lb out of the handicap, grossly flattered by her proximity to the winner, who was heavily eased on the run-in; raced clear, reduced advantage before halfway, shaken up after eleventh, headed 4 out, untidy next, soon beaten.

was hooded for her UK debut and shaped as if needing the run back over fences after 17 months off; chased leader, took strong hold, untidy fifth, not fluent seventh, mistake eleventh, weakened after next, stopped quickly (reportedly lost a shoe); her next run should reveal more.

A disappointing turnout for this mares handicap and, with Caraline's race ending almost as soon as it started, it proved an uncompetitive heat to boot.

TWO SMOKIN BARRELS was left with a simple task, not needing to improve to make it 4 wins from 5 starts over fences, well placed by her trainer and value for much more than the winning margin; chased leader, mistake seventh, close up next, went on 4 out, well clear approaching last, heavily eased.

ASUNCION (FR) ran about as well as could be expected from 23 lb out of the handicap, grossly flattered by her proximity to the winner, who was heavily eased on the run-in; raced clear, reduced advantage before halfway, shaken up after eleventh, headed 4 out, untidy next, soon beaten.

CARALINE (FR) shaped as if amiss; held up, bad mistake first, pulled up after third.

MARTILOO (FR) was hooded for her UK debut and shaped as if needing the run back over fences after 17 months off; chased leader, took strong hold, untidy fifth, not fluent seventh, mistake eleventh, weakened after next, stopped quickly (reportedly lost a shoe); her next run should reveal more.
