A few of these useful types lined up with potential to improve but victory went to easily the most exposed one in the field, and the feeling is the race didn't live up to its promise; the pace was on the steady side.

NEON MOON (IRE) resumed winning ways from the same mark he defied on his reappearance, on a going day for whatever reason; patiently ridden, travelled well, in touch before 5 out, went second next, led before 2 out, driven out; there was no faulting him here but he's not sure to be in the same mood next time.

DEEPER BLUE (FR) again ran well and had no trouble with the longer trip, if anything leaving the impression that he'd have benefited from even more of a test; held up, in touch circuit out, effort 4 out, switched before next, went second 2 out, stuck to task.

ABUFFALOSOLDIER (IRE) probably remains in form but never looked like getting away from his rivals like he had here 8 weeks earlier; led until before 2 out, no extra approaching last.

ARE U WISE TO THAT (IRE) after 3 months off, wasn't in the same form as last time; mid-division, not always fluent, lost place early final circuit, effort 4 out, not quicken.
