looking in fine shape on his first outing since the spring, added to his good record fresh, asked to make the running in a race with little obvious pace, going a surprisingly good gallop, and holding on gamely in a race that was ideal for the runner-up; he beat Paisley Park in the Long Walk last season and will go there with leading claims again.

first, second and third in the last 3 runnings of the race, ran a cracker after 7 months off, jumping off okay and responding really well to firm driving, his rider suspended for 4 days due to his use of the whip; held up, headway eighth, went second home turn, ridden straight, challenged run-in, kept on well, just failed; very much a veteran but still capable of very smart form.

just wasn't in the same form as last time, the run of this race perhaps not suiting him so well, connections unable to offer any explanation to the stewards; held up, shaken up after ninth, left behind soon after, pulled up straight.

The third and fourth from last season's Stayers' Hurdle served up a treat, nothing in it on the run-in, the race almost set up for Paisley Park but he couldn't quite overhaul the game winner, none of the others, all beaten by early in the straight, giving their running in a well-run race.

CHAMP (IRE) looking in fine shape on his first outing since the spring, added to his good record fresh, asked to make the running in a race with little obvious pace, going a surprisingly good gallop, and holding on gamely in a race that was ideal for the runner-up; he beat Paisley Park in the Long Walk last season and will go there with leading claims again.
