A fair few old rivalries were renewed but the mare with significantly more scope for improvement than the others ended up making fairly short work of matters, the identity of a reliable - and very useful - runner-up adding substance to the style of Silver Forever's display.

SILVER FOREVER (IRE) seems set to make up for lost time now back and chasing, bound to face stiffer Irish-trained competition if getting to the Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase in March but quickly stamping herself as the pick of the home-trained contingent with impressive back-to-back wins, in deeper here against some battle-tested mares but making light of her inexperience as she jumped well in the main close up and settled it with her best leap of the round at the last, opening up a 5-length lead soon after and holding it until eased close home; she's one to follow.

CHILLI FILLI is a splendid mare in career-best form, having her winning run ended but only at the hands of a smart novice; held up, steady headway straight, chased leader approaching last, kept on well to close gap as winner began to take things easy final 50 yds, pulled clear of rest.

LEGENDS GOLD (IRE) faced a stiffer task in this grade, running her race good enough for a safely-held third; in touch, pushed along from 4 out, not quicken.

MOMELLA (IRE) shaped as if still in good form, doing fairly well to make her presence felt even briefly given the severity of an early blunder; in touch out wide, lost place when clouted fourth, rallied pushed along 4 out, no further impression.

HAWTHORN COTTAGE (IRE) was up against it on the book up in grade but found an uncontested lead enabling her to excel herself a little, immediately in a rhythm; forced pace, went with zest in switch of headgear, reduced advantage 4 out, tackled next, weakening when untidy last.

BRIDGE NATIVE (IRE) has gone off the boil; raced off the pace, labouring from eleventh.

CASABLANCA MIX (FR) wasn't in anything like the same form as when set to push Chilli Filli close at Market Rasen, running more like she had first time out, when retirement had looked a possibility; handy, lost ground after eleventh, never going well after, struggling before 5 out.

WIN MY WINGS (IRE) went backwards from her reappearance, notwithstanding another big ask at listed level; raced off the pace, awkward fifth, outpaced back straight.
