got his chasing career firmly back on track, the return to a left-handed track probably important, stamina very much his forte and the potential there to improve still further when he goes over long distances; led until eighth, remained prominent, not quicken 3 out, rallied to lead again final 1f, ridden out.

produced a career best, helped by getting into a better rhythm jumping than has generally been the case, particularly encouraging that he did so after mistakes early on; in touch, early mistakes, switched before sixth and jumped better subsequently, led after 4 out, ridden next, headed inside final 1f, kept on; if this was a sign that he's learning there could be a bit more to come.

ran creditably, this probably stronger form than last time, though he shaped as if this is far enough for him, likely to be as effective back over shorter; held up, travelled well, good progress before 4 out, ridden 2 out, challenged last, weakened final 1f.

very much caught the eye on his third start over fences, after 3 months off, the way he went through the race very much in contrast to the lacklustre effort of last time; in touch, jumped well in main, travelled well, lost place fourteenth, kept on again 2 out, not given at all a hard time; shaping as if effective at 3m, he's very much a chaser on looks, will be back on the up after this confidence booster and is definitely one to be interested in for similar events off this mark.

A useful race of its type, and form to view positively, the first 2 relatively unexposed, the third looking on a good mark beforehand and the fifth shaping with plenty of promise.

BOB MAHLER (IRE) got his chasing career firmly back on track, the return to a left-handed track probably important, stamina very much his forte and the potential there to improve still further when he goes over long distances; led until eighth, remained prominent, not quicken 3 out, rallied to lead again final 1f, ridden out.

AIR NAVIGATOR ran up to his best, though there were no obvious excuses, seeming to see the longer trip out well enough; held up, travelled well, good progress before 4 out, ridden 2 out, kept on.

WILDE BLUE YONDER (IRE) ran creditably, this probably stronger form than last time, though he shaped as if this is far enough for him, likely to be as effective back over shorter; held up, travelled well, good progress before 4 out, ridden 2 out, challenged last, weakened final 1f.
