was up in grade but looked the pick on form after winning in a fast time at Newmarket last month and, though not needing to improve any more, he fully backed up that last effort to follow up in a more competitive scenario and over 1f further; made all, travelled best, shaken up over 1f out, held on gamely; he clearly relishes some give in the ground (yet to prove himself effective on firmer than good).

is the best prospect in the field, much less exposed than the 2 he split, coming here after just one run in a maiden, and it was a cracking effort in this much tougher company, sure to have won in another couple of strides; mid-division, headway under pressure over 1f out, kept on well but just failed; he'll stay 1m and will go on improving.

looks more or less exposed now but again ran well and deserves plenty of credit for his consistency, placed 3 starts on the spin in this grade; chased leader, pushed along over 2f out, one paced.

possibly didn't quite meet some expectations on the day, sent off second favourite (well backed), but it was a good effort up in grade, improving again, and he shaped as if ready for 1m already, that where his potential lies; tracked pace, shaken up over 2f out, not quicken but kept on.

faced a stiff task in this grade after finishing third on her debut little more than 2 weeks ago; held up, ridden over 2f out, never a threat; she's well bred and still unexposed.

who'd finished just ahead of Ann Without An E on debut 16 days earlier, like that rival faced a stiff task in this grade but is a well-bred filly who is still unexposed, bred to be suited by 1m+ too; in rear, struggling over 2f out, made no impression.

Winning Owner: Mr Sultan Ali

Time: 1m 28.79s Closing Sectional: (4.00f): 50.45s (100.6%)

Despite there being only 6 runners and the winner making all this was a truly-run affair and the result is solid, whilst the level of form is right up to scratch for the grade too; they raced in single file down the centre of the course initially before fanning across towards the stand side.

HEY GAMAN was up in grade but looked the pick on form after winning in a fast time at Newmarket last month and, though not needing to improve any more, he fully backed up that last effort to follow up in a more competitive scenario and over 1f further; made all, travelled best, shaken up over 1f out, held on gamely; he clearly relishes some give in the ground (yet to prove himself effective on firmer than good).
