had experience of testing ground from Nottingham (chased home Sands of Mali), but she won this through improvement and not practice, her jump in form coinciding with the drop to 5f, mining her speed more, in all something of a perfect storm for her with the better fillies in the line-up not showing it, quickening sharply from last to first in the far-side group (and overall) approaching the last 1f, shifting right before surging on.

had beaten Treasuring at Down Royal, making her more qualified than some in here for a listed shot, duly well up to the task, the lowest drawn to come stand side (but on the wing) and charging through at the same time/rate as the winner, given a bump by her 1f out, not that it made a difference, Sankari Royale beating all the rest hands down.

absent since the Lily Agnes in May but picked up right where she left off, forcing the pace amongst the far runners, amongst them the overall winner, testament to the good work by Yogi's Girl in keeping that side on terms; this was very different ground from what she faced in the spring.

made a better fist of this second attempt at listed level, though the first had been over 6f, and she's probably always going to be most at home at this trip, comfortable with the pace (close up far side) and every chance over 1f out.

Non Runners: FORMIDABLE KITT.

Winning Owner: Mr M. J. Yarrow

Time: 1m 3.31s Closing Sectional: (4.00f): 47.90s (102.7%)

A big field diluted by the ground, more struggling with conditions than relishing it, including the higher-rated fillies, leaving the door wide open, no taking away from the principals, but as a piece of form this perhaps isn't worth much; they raced in 2 groups, little between them throughout, the first 2 coming from the back of either pack.

EIRENE had experience of testing ground from Nottingham (chased home Sands of Mali), but she won this through improvement and not practice, her jump in form coinciding with the drop to 5f, mining her speed more, in all something of a perfect storm for her with the better fillies in the line-up not showing it, quickening sharply from last to first in the far-side group (and overall) approaching the last 1f, shifting right before surging on.
