showed improved form as he resumed winning ways, probably doing quite well in a race that tested speed more than stamina, this trip likely to prove a minimum for him in time; in touch, short of room approaching 2f out, stayed on to lead inside final 1f, ridden out; likely to progress further, particularly as his stamina is drawn out.

showed improved form in a first-time visor, much more professional on this occasion, though a more positive ride was no bad thing as it went; close up, travelled well, led 3f out, headed inside final 1f, rallied, kept on; well bred and in good hands, he may do better still.

ran creditably and did well under the circumstances, worst positioned of the 4 that came to the fore, conditions also very different to his Salisbury demolition job; raced off the pace, had to wait for gap 3f out, forced to switch 2f out, headway over 1f out, kept on; he's due to be 5 lb higher still next time but left the impression that we're yet to get to the bottom of him, and he remains with potential.

has a bit of work to do from his opening mark but shaped encouragingly in first-time cheekpieces, not seen to best effect; tracked pace, shuffled back over 2f out, short of room over 1f out, keeping on when not clear run final 100 yds, not persevered with once held; he's still learning and remains with potential, very unlikely that we've seen the best of him yet.

making handicap debut, wasn't in the same form as last time; raced wide, in touch, close up 2f out, every chance soon after, weakened final 1f.

upped in trip, failed to repeat last effort, not looking particularly straightforward under pressure; dwelt, raced off the pace, took strong hold, effort over 2f out, wandered, weakened over 1f out.

upped in trip, ran poorly making handicap debut, possibly unsuited by the firmest conditions he's faced so far, though this was also a more competitive environment, eligible for slightly lesser handicaps from his mark; led, headed 3f out, weakening when hampered over 1f out, soon beaten.

This appeals as being good 3-y-o handicap form, a couple of disappointments in behind but there is plenty to like about the quartet that came to the fore, not much between them with the race having been run at a modest gallop, the third doing well to come form the furthest back.

DUKE OF BRONTE showed improved form as he resumed winning ways, probably doing quite well in a race that tested speed more than stamina, this trip likely to prove a minimum for him in time; in touch, short of room approaching 2f out, stayed on to lead inside final 1f, ridden out; likely to progress further, particularly as his stamina is drawn out.

ON TO VICTORY ran creditably and did well under the circumstances, worst positioned of the 4 that came to the fore, conditions also very different to his Salisbury demolition job; raced off the pace, had to wait for gap 3f out, forced to switch 2f out, headway over 1f out, kept on; he's due to be 5 lb higher still next time but left the impression that we're yet to get to the bottom of him, and he remains with potential.
