is really blossoming as a chaser, this another significant step forward, suggesting he can play a leading role in top prizes for the rest of the season, the Kauto Star at Kempton the obvious next step; waited with, chased leader after fourteenth, stayed on to lead soon after 2 out, kept on well, ridden out; open to further improvement and one to keep on right side.

built on debut promise and put most of these to the sword under a typically attacking ride, but in the end was outpointed by one who is simply a much better chaser than hurdler; pressed leader, not fluent sixth, led seventh, headed 2 out, not fluent there, kept on; already a smart novice over fences after just 2 starts and has more to offer, sure to win races.

took a step backwards, back up in class, and might benefit from a more softly-softly approach, allowing that his new mark doesn't promise easy options in handicaps; waited with, left behind early in straight.

A good renewal of this graded novice, though the test proved too much for most, the runner-up pressing on a long way out and seeing off most, but unable to get the better of the winner, who put up a performance right up to the best recent efforts in the race, both first and second having bright futures as chasers.
