left reappearance form well behind, looking a completely different proposition with the first-time tongue strap fitted, getting to the leader (himself a last-time-out winner) easily before seeing him off; dropped out, switched after 3 out, smooth headway before next, every chance approaching last, led run-in, asserted close home; this was a best effort and one that suggests he'll take plenty of beating again next time, too.
